officialy christmas around here

tree is up, presents are wrapped and I'm all ready for christmas :) (I think being done with the present this early is a new record for me lol)

slowly getting into the christmas mood

of course all the christmas decoration and the pretty lights all around town certainly help. very tempted to get my christmas box out from the basement.

hope everyone had a great christmas however you spent it and that you got whatever you wished for. I certainly can't complain. among other things I got some new photography geat inlcuding a 35mm f1.8 and a light meter that I can't wait to try out properly!!

it's that time again

with one month till christmas, I think it's acceptable to slowly start the christmas pictures, don't you agree? ;)

I left a bit early today, so I'd have some time before uni to go to a christmas market and take some pictures, so here we go

Happy New Year everyone!!! Hope everyone had a great time, doing whatever you were doing :)



I got back from my trip out of town yesterday. had a great time, although I was hoping for a little snow. we had a patch here and there, but nothing compared to last year :/ I'm gonna post some pics from the trip as soon as I went through them all

I also realised that I havent gotten a good shot of our christmas tree yet. I'm gonna have to change that in the next couple of days :) but for now some deatil shots of our tree







and in other picture news, I decided to do the 365 project. you know, where you take a picture everyday of the year. dont know how long I'm gonna last, but I'll really TRY to stick to it. that may actually be good for keeping this blog updated ;) you can check out the pictures on my flickr account

even more cookies and christmas goodies

like I said in the previous post I was planning to make some other cookies, and I actually stuck to it.

I kept it simple and made some cut-out butter cookies with frosting and sprinkles on top.

and as for the chrismtas goodies. I got a remote control for my camera!!! wasnt even all that expensive.
haven't tried it out properly yet, just some test shots. and I'm already loving it!!

makes self portraits so much easier ;)

cookies and christmas lights make me happy

did some baking a couple of days ago. I made the same ones as the last years...peanutbutter-chocolate cookies. sooo good, but you cant eat more than two or three at a time cause of all the sugar hehe

I'm planning to make some other kind before christmas. lets see if I actually stick to it.

and I also put up some christmas decoration around the house. had to take a picture of the pretty christmas lights :)

I thought with all the christmas pictures I took in the last weeks it's about time to change my header. it is now officially christmas time all around my blog.

and I also did some minor layout changes. I've changed the comment system to another one, cause I really wanted a reply function, which blogger unfortunately does not offer. so I've switched to disqus. not sure yet if I'm gonna keep it though, cause one thing I don't like about it is that you can't comment with your blogger account :/ we'll see.

and because a post without a picture is not a good post...
I tried another editing on one of the pictures from the last post.

which one do you like better? I can't really decide, I like both, this one is not as christmassy looking as the other one colorwise, but still kinda cool.

another trip to the christmas market...

...means some new pictures :) once again I went to the one in front of the city hall.

they have this really big advent wreath with the first candle already "lit"

this time I kept the focus on the christmas balls



I tried some different editing on these to make them look more christmassy. yay or nay?

it's officially christmas time on my blog. one month till christmas is not that bad, right?

one (of the many) thing(s) I absolutely love about christmas markets...you get a beautiful bokeh!!

today I went to the christmas market in front of the city hall since I always have some time during lectures and its right next to the university.

while there are some booths that have absolutely nothing to do with christmas (like soccer tricots) there are some pretty things that would work well as a christmas present.
and no christmas market is complete without candy and junk-food...and of course lots of punch (this time I tried the orange punch...very good)

I've got some more photos from today that I have yet to edit, so there will be more pictures very soon ;)

since everyone else seems to already have posted a picture of their decorated tree, I thought I'd share some too.
I'm not really all that happy with the ones I have so far, so there'll probably come some more tree shots lol

christmas cookies

one thing I always loved about christmas were all the delicious cookies you get to eat. when I was a kid me and my brother always baked some with my mom, but that stopped as we got older. so right now, I'm pretty much the only one that bakes at this time of the year.

the first ones I made were chocolate-peanutbutter cookies...with lots of sugar lol believe me you can't eat more then 3 or 4 or you get sick. well at least that's how it is with me...not so much with my brother lol


I was actually just planning on doing just the one kind, but ended up doing some simple butter cookies too


I remember doing those same cookies with my brother and mother when we were kids


and of course we always fought, who could lick those clean lol good thing there are two of them


and this is what they look like now. well not all of them, I just decorated some of them and left the rest the way it was.

christmas shopping

I'm pretty much done with christmas shopping, and believe me that's like major for me since I'm always a last minute shopper lol but since I have to work till the 23rd I thought it might get too stressfull

got a book for my brother. just hope my brothers doesn't have it already. I'm gonna keep the bill thoug, just in case.


for my mom I have some scarfs since she takes mine, which is a major pain in the ass. at first I wanted to give her all three of them, but I think I'm gonna keep the green one for me lol it's such a nice color


the only ones I'm still not sure about are my grandparents. I was thiking maybe to give them some pictures I took with the tripod my grandpa gave me. Since they were the first ones I used the tripod for I thought it might be a good idea.

still not sure though if I'm gonna buy something instead. we'll see

christmas market

went to a christmas market today. my first one this year...well actually the third one but the first two where just walking through on the way to uni and home so they don't really count. didn't even have a camera with me those time, so I see this one as my first lol

christmas markets are one of the main thing I look forward at this time of the year.

even when I'm not in the christmas feeling yet, I alway get into it when I walk around at one of those markets and drink some mulled wine and eat all kind of unhealthy food.

these two aren't totally sharp, but I still kinda like them. they show the dynamic you can see on a chritmas market with all the people and stuff.

I'll probably go take my camera to another christmas market, so there may come some more christmasy pictures ;)
